Sumár projektu:This project came up after we noticed a lack of knowledge and feeling of belonging to the European Union coming from our educational community. We also realized a decrease in the motivation of students to learn English and the attainment of lower results in the development of competencies in this language. All of this initiated a research for European partners with similar interests to ours which led to creating a strategic partnership with five other schools from different points and cultures of our continent that would like to start this path together. One of the main objectives of this project is to arouse the curiosity to discover the world in our students through festivals and traditions, looking for points in common with our culture which helps them to better understand our origins and connecting past, present, and future by analyzing its evolution over time. From this, we hope to obtain an increase in the feeling of belonging to the European Union and a greater sensitivity towards the importance of cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe. On the other hand, through the use of English in the development of the activities we aim to improve the language skills in our students as well as the motivation to learn and continue improving their English skills. In addition, we expect to improve the ICT skills by working with digital tools, which will play a fundamental role in the development of our work, both as a source of information in research, in communication with our European partners, in the development of our results and in the dissemination of these. And at last but not least, another goal that we aim to achieve is the integration of our SEN students in the development of the Project, providing them with all the necessary assistance for them to get the same opportunities as their peers to enjoy this experience. To reach our goal, we have disseminated different activities in order to involve the entire educational community of all partner schools. From the younger students to the older ones, passing through the educational team, staff, families and local authorities. All of them, in one way or another, will be part of this work and will participate actively in different activities adapted to their needs. Students will conduct researches through cooperative work on the origin of our festivals and traditions, from which will participate in their celebration, promoting cohesion and creating and reinforcing emotional bonds between students and even with the rest of the educational community. And although only a group of students will be able to travel to different countries to verify and increase the results of their research, we will establish a network of communication through the use of social networks, chats, Skype meetings, etc., so that all students can establish contact with colleagues in foreign schools. With all this we intend to create a great impact on the schools and their environment, enriching them with new experiences which allow contact with other cultures by increasing their knowledge about them and promoting tolerance and respect towards different nationalities, customs and beliefs. In addition, we hope that once the project is finished, students and their environment will be able to appreciate the importance of being active European citizens and know the possibilities that our continent offers us. To achieve this, we have a carefully organized work plan among the different coordinators of the different countries that are part of this project. Continuous evaluation of the project's development through face-to-face and on-line meetings must be a constant to achieve the optimal development of the project. For this effect, the digital tools will be a very important part, as will be the dissemination of the results of our work so that they can benefit from as many people as possible. And we are convinced that this will be possible because this is a project designed to go beyond the walls of the schools and beyond the 24 months of its development. The material resulting from the research will be disseminated through the greater number of channels so it can reach the greatest number of people who could make use of it. These could be booklets, e-books, and many other digital materials which could reflect the results of our work and that could be useful to people who are working on this issue nowadays and in the future. On the other hand, social awareness on multiculturalism and diversity in Europe, and the common origins that make us share common ancestors will remain in the minds of those who have taken part of this experience, and maybe it will motivate them to continue to increase their knowledge about it and instill these ideas in future generations
